České Radiokomunikace (CRA) will promote awareness of the Duke of Edinburgh's Foundation and Award (DOFE) and include a DOFE TV channel on terrestrial television. The aim is to inform the public about the programme and the opportunities to get involved, whether young participants or schools who would like to join, or potential partners or supporters. The broadcast will launch on 2 May 2022 on multiplex 23.

The channel will have informative content that will introduce viewers to the history of the DOFE, its programme and the workings of the organisation. The broadcast will include a time loop explaining the DOFE's programme. The channel will also make use of HbbTV, where viewers can find out detailed information about what the DOFE programme offers, who it is for and how to subscribe. HbbTV will also feature short video clips of DOFE alumni and educational video clips.

"We are happy to support the talent, enthusiasm and activity of young people. We believe in young people, in their desire for knowledge and infinite potential," says CRA CEO Vít Vážan. "The DOFE channel is a way of making the DOFE more accessible and appealing to more people than ever before. I'm delighted that we can support young people to develop the skills, experience and confidence to successfully navigate their way through adult life," adds Vít Vážan.

"We want to reach out to young people aged 14-24 who can develop and work on themselves through DOFE, as well as institutions that could join us and start delivering the programme," says Tomáš Vokáč, DOFE Director in the Czech Republic. "HbbTV will also have an application form that those interested in participating in the programme can fill out. We believe that the programme has a big impact on young people's lives, which is why we are constantly expanding the ways in which we get the word out about the DOFE. It is also for this reason that we have chosen the format of a television broadcast," adds Tomáš Vokáč.

The DOFE programme was founded in 1956 by HRH Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, husband of Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain. Hence the name The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award. Kurt Hahn, a German educator who promotes experiential pedagogy, and Lord Hunt, who, among other things, led the first successful expedition to the summit of Mount Everest, were also involved in developing the programme. The programme has been running in the Czech Republic since 1995.
