We are delighted that DOFE with the organization Fairplaypoint. This gives young people another opportunity to do their volunteering, but also opportunities to develop cooperation, skills and experience fair play not only on the field.
What is Fair Play Point?
Fair Play Point (formerly Football for Development) is a non-profit organisation that has been showing for many years that sport can be a great tool for learning. Through football, it helps children and young people develop mutual respect, communication and self-reflection.
They organize the Fair Football League in seven regions of the Czech Republic (Prague, Brno, Karlovy Vary, Pilsen, Ústí nad Labem, Liberec and Olomouc regions). Any team from low-threshold clubs or primary schools can participate.
The tournaments have an unusual format:
- in the first period, the players set their own rules,
- in the second, they play the match with the support of a mediator,
- in the third period, they jointly assess compliance with the rules and fair play.
The final result is not only determined by goals, but also by fairness and teamwork.
What about the dofacs?
They get new opportunities to volunteer. They can get involved as mediators, coaches or tournament helpers. This is a valuable option especially in regions where there are not as many volunteer opportunities.
Where can you find more information?
On the web Fair Play Point. Or you can go straight to log in.
We look forward to the fact that the combination of DOFE and Fair Play Point will bring new experiences to young people and schools and open the door to fair play and cooperation across the Czech Republic.
