Every successful graduate of the DofE programme can attend a certificate and badge ceremony. The ceremony takes place in the presence of DofE patrons and other distinguished guests. Attendance at the ceremony is included in the participation fee paid when registering for the DofE programme, so there is no additional cost.

Completion of a level in ORB - a requirement for the ceremony
In the predetermined date (see Important dates below) you must have all activities and dispatches completed - everything needs to be entered in the ORB. To register for the ceremony, you must have the status in ORB: Waiting for the ceremony. You will do best if you contact your supervisor(s) before the deadline so that your ORB entries can be completed in a timely manner.
Certificate and badge
All successful dofaks will receive an electronic certificate and badge by email (filled in ORB) after completing the level! If you attend the ceremony, we will present you with a printed certificate and real badge right there. We recommend attaching the electronic certificate as an attachment when applying to universities, internships, or show it off on LinkedIn. Your future employers or universities will be interested to know that you can set the right goals and, more importantly, achieve them with purpose. New dofactors are also taking badges for Growing paper! The growing paper contains flower seeds suitable for bees and butterflies and can be planted. In the DofE, the ceremony doesn't stop there. It's a challenge!
Registration for the ceremony
A mail with the registration link for the ceremony will arrive at your email - the one you have in your ORB (don't forget to check your spam!). Registration for the ceremony is time limited (see Important dates), so ideally fill out the application form as soon as it arrives.
Course of the ceremony
The ceremony is a must arrive on time a in formal wear, Since each successful graduate will go on stage to receive a certificate and badge. Upon arrival at the ceremony, you must register at the entrance. Then sit together as you know each other from your DofE Centre. After the opening, the presenters will first welcome everyone, the distinguished guests will give speeches and then the most important part will come, the presentation of awards to you, the successful graduates. During the certificate ceremony, your medallion that you filled out when you registered for the ceremony will be read. You will also have the opportunity to make a speech or demonstrate your skill (you fill in this option when you register for the ceremony). As soon as your name is called, you're going on stagewhere you shake hands first with one person who hands you a certificate and then with another who hands you a badge. You then stand between the two presenters and the photographer takes a picture of you together. After the photo is taken, you leave the stage feeling victorious and return to your seat. 😊 The ceremony will be followed by joint photography of all dofaks and your leaders. We would be delighted if you would stay for refreshments after the ceremony and take the opportunity to talk informally with DofE officials and patrons alike. The entire official part of the ceremony lasts max. 1 hour (depending on the number of award winners), the informal part also lasts max. 1 hour.

FAQ for dofaks
How do I complete the level?
You must have completed all activities and expedition and their entry in the ORB. In order to complete the ceremony, you must have a status in ORB: Awaiting Ceremony. You will do best to contact your leader/supervisor before the deadline to have your ORB entries completed in a timely manner.
What if I don't finish the level by the deadline?
It's okay, you'll go to the ceremony at another time.
How do I get a certificate?
You will receive an electronic certificate each time you complete a level. It will be sent automatically to your email (the one you have registered in ORB). You will only receive a paper certificate at the ceremony or from your leader/coordinator who will pick it up at the ceremony.
Will I only need an electronic certificate as proof of passing the DofE?
Yes, that's enough! For this reason, an electronic version is now also sent to applicants, which you can attach to your CV. Don't forget to show off your electronic certificate on social media and add it to LinkedIn.
How do I get a badge?
The electronic badge will arrive in your mail together with the electronic certificate. The real badge can only be received at the ceremony.
Is the ceremony compulsory?
No, participation in the ceremony is not compulsory. However, if you do not attend, you will not receive a badge. And that would be a shame.
I want to go to the ceremony, do I have to sign up for it?
Yes, you will receive an application form at the email address you have entered in ORB! But you must have completed everything, see above.
Why didn't I get my application for the ceremony?
An invitation to the ceremony was extended to all dofacs who met the ORB registration deadline. You probably do not have the required status in ORB: Pending Ceremony or you did not meet the deadline by which this status had to be entered. P.S. Ceremony registration goes to the email you have in ORB and be sure to check your spam.
What happens if I don't make it to the ceremony but have met the ORB enrollment deadline?
You will not lose your electronic certificate or badge, it will arrive in your email (the one you have in ORB). Unfortunately, you will no longer be able to participate in the ceremony.
If I can't make it to my ceremony, can I make it another year?
Unfortunately, that's not how it works. If you have completed your ORB registration on time and missed the ceremony, you are not allowed to participate the following year. But don't hang your head, your electronic certificate is in the mail and maybe try the next level!
Why do I have to fill out a medallion on the ceremony application form?
When the moderators call your name at the ceremony, it is your medallion from your application form that they read about, so it's great if you share with us how you enjoyed doing the DofE.
Why would I want to perform or give a speech at the ceremony?
Each ceremony is unique and we are all the more pleased if you want to share with your "fellow dancers" an experience from the program (speech) or, on the contrary, to demonstrate a skill (singing, playing the piano or another musical instrument, ballroom dancing, etc.). Such a ceremony has juice!
Who can I bring?
Take up to 2 people with you. They can be parents, siblings, friends or dates. 😉 The choice is yours!
How long does the ceremony last?
The ceremony, including the awarding of certificates and badges, lasts up to 1 hour (depending on the number of participants), the informal part with refreshments also lasts up to 1 hour. It is therefore best if you set aside 2 hours for the ceremony.
Is it possible to change the location/date of the ceremony?
Unfortunately, that's not possible. The ceremony you applied for is just the right one for you!

FAQ for leaders
What can I do to make sure that the dofák meets the ORB level?
In order to complete a level in ORB, the dofák must have a status of Awaiting Ceremony at a date to be determined by the National Center. If you have difficulty completing the ORB, please contact us in a timely manner (before the deadline) at: orb@dofe.cz.
Is it possible to add data to the ORB after the deadline and still be able to participate in this year's ceremony?
No, unfortunately this is not possible. It is possible to add an entry to the ORB after the deadline, however, this dofák will not be able to participate in the ceremony until the next deadline.
How does my sponsor sign up for the ceremony?
Alone! Please don't announce the dofaks at the ceremony you, save your strength. 😉 Each dofak will receive an application for the ceremony on his/her email (which he/she has filled in ORB). However, you can notify them that they might receive such an email. 😊
Why would a dofac fill out a medallion on the ceremony application form?
A medallion will be read about each dofaq directly at the ceremony. So it would be good if the dofák had his medallion filled in. They fill it out themselves just like the application form, this information is here if you are asked about it.
Why would a doofak want to perform or give a speech at a ceremony?
Each ceremony is unique and we are all the more pleased if the dofactors want to share their experiences from the programme (speech) or demonstrate a skill (singing, playing the piano or another musical instrument, ballroom dancing, etc.). This option is filled in by the dofactors as part of their application for the ceremony. Such a ceremony has juice!
Do I have to sign up as a leader/coordinator for the ceremony?
Yes, if you wish to accompany your dofacs to the ceremony, you must register for the ceremony. The ceremony registration form will land in your mail.
Can I forward my application for the ceremony to my dofaces or colleagues?
No. Each application is unique and in your name. Certificates are then printed based on that application. If you, as a supervisor, sign up 6 six of your dofactors, we will then have 6 certificates with your name on them. 🤷♀️ So everyone signs up for the ceremony via their application form that lands in the mail.
Why didn't I, as the leader/coordinator, get an invitation to this year's ceremony?
An invitation to the ceremony was extended to all leaders/coordinators who have this year's graduates enrolled in ORB. Don't despair, the colleague(s) who received the invitation may bring you along as their guest. You will definitely not miss the ceremony! P.S. Applications go to the email you have on ORB and be sure to check your spam.
Can I pick up certificates and badges at the ceremony for what about those who don't show up?
Yes, you can pick up the certificates and badges from the dofaks who are not present at the ceremony (and are entitled to them) and present them to them after the ceremony. Please see your Regional Manager at the ceremony.
Is it possible to change the location/date of the ceremony?
No, I'm afraid that's not possible.
Who can I bring?
Take 1 person with you. Maybe a manager who is not there this year, or a colleague who is thinking about going to DofE. But the choice is yours!
