The last weekend in April saw another unique gathering of leaders, coordinators, inspirational speakers and ambassadors known as DofE Leader Camp. This year, we gathered for the second time at the Open Gate Gymnasium and Primary School in Babice u Prahy to share our experiences, discuss the importance of non-formal education in the Czech Republic and take away as much knowledge and suggestions for practice as possible.

Over the course of the three days, everyone had the opportunity to choose from a range of lectures and workshops, this year also outdoor, including an outdoor survival course with Carl Dobson. "We tried to choose topics that are currently resonating in the education system," says Jakub Bronec, Learning and Quality Manager of the Duke of Edinburgh's International Award. Therefore, the programme included lectures on mentoring, increasing mental resilience, learning styles and reflection techniques.

We would like to thank The Kellner Family Foundation and the deputy director of Open Gate, Luděk Michalík, for allowing the event to take place in a place that gives it a pleasant atmosphere. A big thank you also goes to the DofE team for their drive and commitment to ensure that everything went according to plan and to the satisfaction of the participants. And, of course, to the speakers who gave their time to the participants outside of the allotted time.

We look forward to the next edition!
