Global changes to the DOFE programme in the wake of the pandemic
Based on the evolution of the COVID-19 pandemic, the International DOFE Association (IAA) decided to extend the temporary changes in the rules for the implementation of the DOFE programme. All changes are now valid until 31 July 2021.
As long as you are able to provide the DOFE program to participants at your Local/DOFE Center without modification and in compliance with applicable government health regulations, you may continue to do so. If anything prevents you and the students, please take advantage of the following changes. These are designed to enable as many young people as possible to continue to complete and successfully complete the DOFE during a pandemic.
Moving the age limit
- up to and including 31 July 2021, a Participant who has already reached the age of 25, but who has been affected by the COVID pandemic, may continue his or her activities after his or her 25th birthday
Changes in volunteering
- It is still true that dofactors can also volunteer within the family (volunteering at home)
- volunteering can be implemented as volunteering at home i volunteering from home
- volunteering from home means that the dofactors can fulfil the area with the help of various communication technologies, e.g. video calls with the elderly, online tutoring of classmates, etc.; production of aids to fight the pandemic and its consequences, spreading awareness about crucial issues, etc.
- volunteering at home nor volunteering from home with May not focus only on activities related to the COVID-19 pandemic
Changes in expeditions
- after careful expeditionary training and preparation, the DOFE leader may forgive the team bronze training expedition, or recognise bronze training expedition as a sharp
- the head of the DOFE may also recognise silver training expedition as bronze sharp expedition
- if the participants have completed any level of DofE, they don't have to go on a practice silver/gold expedition

Changes in the residential project
- the residential project can take place completely virtually
- Alternatively, it is possible for the participant to spend the day doing an activity as part of their residential project (i.e. in a less familiar environment with new people but returning to their home environment for the night)
