We are preparing a weekend meeting for DofE leaders and fans of non-formal education from 23rd to 25th May at the Open Gate school in Babice u Prahy.  

The meeting is full of inspiration, practical tips and new perspectives - not only for working with young people, but also for personal development. And you'll meet other leaders from across the country. Registration is still open here.

And who can you look forward to? 

The whole camp will be opened by an educator and literacy expert Hana Košt'álová. 

There will also be a moderated debate on Friday evening.

Former reporter for Czech Television and now director of the House of Culture in Ostrov, Vladimir Keblusek will be chatting with Eva Nečasová a Michaela Štáfková.

Eva Nečasová is the co-founder of AI for Kids, a non-profit initiative dedicated to AI education. The initiative aims to develop critical thinking, creativity and social responsibility within the education system. Previously, she worked in the field of design under the brand designity.cz.

Michaela Štáfková is a psychotherapist, school psychologist and lecturer who specializes in wellbeing, addiction and risk behaviors in virtual environments. Seven years ago, she founded the Psychological Counselling Centre for Adolescents and the Ada+ addiction clinic in Kladno, and now she works in Český Krumlov. She collaborates on strategic state documents, publishes and lectures. She is actively involved in the education of teachers and social workers.

Šimon Steffal - How to co-create a motivating environment 

Simon has over 20 years of experience in people development and specializes in mind-set and improving communication. He helps create an environment where people work together constructively and communicate clearly and confidently. 

At the workshop you will learn: 

  • how to foster intrinsic motivation and perseverance in students 
  • how to work with growth mindset and self-regulation 
  • how to improve teamwork 

Alice Pospíšilová - Brain in balance: how to strengthen your motivation and resistance to stress! 

Alice has a long-standing interest in cognitive development, stress management and burnout prevention. Her methods are based on the latest neuroscience and use modern diagnostic tools such as biofeedback and sleep pattern analysis. 

At the workshop you will find out: 

  • how to improve concentration and memory 
  • how to manage stress effectively 
  • how quality sleep affects your performance and recovery 

Dominik Ženatý - introduction of the Záchranka application and its practical use 

Dominik is the project manager of the Záchranka application and will present this application and its real use during expeditions.  

At the workshop he will show you: 

  • how the Rescue app works and what its options are 
  • how its advanced features work, such as video streaming from the scene of an accident or sending your location 
  • how to train resuscitation in virtual reality 

Jakub Voříšek - workshop on communication with the audience 

Jakub has a lot of experience from Czech Television and Czech Radio, where he worked as a presenter of programmes for children and adults. He has been teaching presentation skills and media literacy for a long time. 

At the workshop you will learn: 

  • how to communicate effectively with the audience 
  • how to present your ideas correctly 
  • how to use the media to promote your activities 

Jakub Straka & David Klouda from the Zjisti víc podcast! - Learning and working with resources in the age of AI 

Jakub and David are the authors of a successful podcast, which since 2022 brings listeners a wide range of topics processed in a clear and humorous way. They focus on working with sources, putting information into context and, more recently, the use of AI tools. 

Their workshop will offer answers to the questions:  

  • how to work with sources and put information into context 
  • what pitfalls lurk on the internet and how to defend yourself against them 
  • how to use AI tools in everyday life 

 Jana Magdoňová - Verify information only with your mobile phone in your hand  

Jana is the co-author of the Antivirus programme, which brings the latest information about cyber-attacks and online scams to Czech Radio - Radiožurnál. She was also the founder of the radio project Ověřovna. This explains and puts into context false information or distorted facts. 

At the workshop you will learn: 

  • how to quickly detect online fraud or misinformation 
  • how to verify photos and images 
  • what can be found out just by using social networks
Vít Janda - What is happening in the online world in 2025 - what is happening and how to work with it?
Vítek is a former dofák who started his own business during his studies. Today he runs ShortPRO, an agency that helps companies reach the younger generation through videos, influencers and social networks. With his second agency Janda Sport in turn supports the athletes in their search for sponsors.

At the workshop you will learn: 

  • what trends are driving the online world and the young generation
  • how technology affects our lives
  • what role teachers and mentors can play in this
Pavlína Louženská & Andrea Hurychová - Creative and Innovative Thinking
Pavlína is the founder of #HolkyzMarketing, a Google for Startups mentor and a future consultant for Fortune500 companies.

Andrea built the agency WeDigital (now Lafluence), which she successfully sold in 2023. Today she is a coach and mentor in the field of creativity and entrepreneurship.

At the workshop you will learn: 

  • that creativity is not a talent, but a skill that can be developed
  • practical techniques for generating new ideas
  • how to apply creativity in personal and professional life
Jan Spratek - lecture Czech space activities and opportunities, workshop Space in education

Jan is an employee of the Prague Planetarium, in charge of the ESA - European Space Agency education office in the Czech Republic, a satellite operator and a mentor of student teams in the field of space technology. He is preparing a lecture and a workshop for #DLC.

Saturday's lecture will answer the questions:
  • How does the Czech Republic score in space technology?
  • What opportunities await the next generation - not just in science and technology?
At Sunday's workshop you will hear:
  • how to use the theme of space to motivate pupils
  • practical tools, competitions and space projects for the classroom

Vlasta Poláchová - Self-defence for all 

Vlasta is a lecturer with more than twenty years of experience, focusing on self-defence with an overlap into HR, people and business management, communication and de-escalation. During the workshop she will show that self-defence is really for everyone - from young people to women 50+, this is the group Vlasta has been focusing on for a long time.  

At the workshop you will find out and try it out for yourself: 

  • how to strengthen your intuition and perceive your limits 
  • how to use defensive communication 
  • simple physical self-defence techniques 

Carl James Dobson - Survival in the Wilderness 

Carl has a military background and extensive experience teaching outdoor survival. His passion is to pass on the knowledge and show that outdoor skills are not just about survival, but also about self-development and overcoming challenges. 

At the workshop you will learn and try out: 

  • how to navigate in nature and improvise in crisis situations 
  • basic bushcraft and survival techniques 
  • how to turn being outdoors into an adventure full of new skills
